Music and Friendship

Nocturne is a group of friends who meet every other week to drink tea and wine, tell jokes, and practice our favorite choral pieces, with a special fondness for the sacred music of the Renaissance, classical, and modern eras.

Members of Nocturne have been singing together for over 20 years, beginning as liturgical musicians at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, and then appearing in concert as Fifth Sunday. In 2024 we changed our name to Nocturne, to better fit our current incarnation as an independent choral ensemble.

Adding singers over the years, we're now a nine-voice group, a perfect number for tackling complex pieces while preserving the feel of a small chamber group. While we take our music seriously, we are, above all, good friends who sing together for the love of music.
